Hello,
What is the difference between Bee Pollen and Bee Propolis?
I have a problem where my sinus become infected, swollen, or God know what, but when this happens the sinus becomes blocked then I get fluid in my ears. It hinders my hearing and feels like my ears are stuffed.
Do you think that Bee Pollen would help this situation?
Thanks,
Jean
Hi Jean,
It is unlikely that bee pollen will help this. I would recommend trying propolis which is much more anti-viral/anti-bacterial.

I would like to try proplis for a multitude of reasons but the main problem being sinus infection.
Could someone kindly please advice me if 1000mg is enough dose to combat this or at lest a starting dose?.
Many many thanks
Angela's comments:
That's a good starting dose Lisa provided you've used propolis before. If you haven't, twist open the capsule and take only half of it or less for the first time. If tolerance is good, increase the amount until you reach a full capsule.

hello,
I am not sure if you can answer my question or not,
but I was wondering, could bee pollen possibly cure sinustitus?
because usually when people have a sinus infection they are prescribed
Antibiotics and since bee pollen supposedly does the same, would it help? And be less harsh
on our immune system?
Angela's Comments:
Bee pollen certainly has immune enhancing properties but to say whether it would cure sinusitis is difficult.
Propolis has stronger anti-bacterial/viral properties and it has been my experience that using it for a sinus infection would be more effective.
Bee Propolis Benefits Include Positive Effect on Immunity
Scientists recently looked at the immune stimulating effects of bee propolis. The researchers gave different doses of propolis to hens and then measured the activity in their immune systems.
What they found was that the addition of propolis at 3 g/kg in the diet resulted in significant increases in antibody levels - it boosted immune activity.
They also found that propolis supplementation significantly increased red blood cells compared with the other treatments.
So what does this mean? While the study wasn't done in humans, there is mounting scientific evidence that propolis is good for your immune system. There are many studies showing that it is antibacterial and antiviral so this really comes as no surprise. To this day I have not found a substance that helps kill colds better than quality bee propolis!

I just asked another question and have another. I have chronic sinusitis, ear problems, and mild asthma along with fibromyalgia and arthritis. Since I have food allergies, I am always cautious about taking new things but really want to feel better. Any thoughts on which products would be best? Thanks
Angela's Comments:
Based on what you are dealing with, I would actually suggest starting out with propolis and then after 4 weeks or so adding in bee pollen. Propolis has anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti asthma properties. It is also highly anti-inflammatory which may aid the fibro and arthritis. For ease of use, start with our bee propolis 1000 mg capsules or one of our tinctures. Hope that helps!
