Energy Levels w. Psych Meds & Bee Pollen

Hi Angela,
I'm 40+ years & take a mood stabilizer and an anti-anxiety medication. (for 20+ years)
I asked my psychiatrist if the meds I take are ok to take with bee pollen and she gave me a thumbs up. I also spoke with a trusted medical professional nurse that is well versed in natural medicine and she said bee pollen is a overall good food in general and encouraged me to go for it.
I'm on day 2 of Bee Pollen (1/8 tsp per day). I generally have noticed more mental clarity and a more cheerful disposition so far.
However, I have noticed that I get drowsy a few hours after taking the bee pollen and will commence to sleep (hard and sound) for 2 to 3 hours after.
I had a similar reaction when I tried green drinks a few months ago (blended raw spinach & water with stevia) for energy and health improvement.
I stopped the green drinks within a week. I figured my body was just detoxing and would level out but I couldn't afford to nap that often when I had work and other responsibilities.
I feel given the enormous benefits of bee pollen, I want to stick with it!
Can you help me to understand why I'm having an opposite reaction in energy level? And can you give me any info if this sleepiness effect will change in time?
Thanks,
Dani
Hard to say exactly what is causing this Dani but usually this indicates a low level allergy or intollerance to the product. Sorry to break that to you. What you can try and do is reintroduce the bee pollen back into your diet after a couple of week break. So stop the bee pollen and then begin taking it again but only 1 granule at a time. Gradually up your dose if you don't get the same symptoms again. Do this over a month or so.
